"ChatGPT: Lifeline to Autistic People"

 min read

ChatGPT, a popular chatbot, is providing a new resource for autistic people to rehearse communication skills and turn to when life gets tough. Autistic consultant Madi Young found the chatbot closely mirrors the way they speak and uses it as a resource for brainstorming and helping neurodivergent entrepreneurs with brand and business strategies. Hadley Johnston, a first-year college student, also uses it to practice expressing her emotions in situations like roommate conflicts. While its therapeutic potential is still unknown, ChatGPT is an accessible tool that may bridge the gap left by intermittent access to mental health services.
